Solar Hot Water Heating

Training Content

The course is aimed at previously qualified or experienced domestic heating engineers and plumbers. Training is not intended for those without experience of heating and plumbing installations as a degree of prior knowledge is assumed.

Training takes into consideration the majority of systems installed in the UK, investigating the different system configurations, components and operating characteristics. It targets aspects that are specific to solar domestic hot water systems, giving learners the confidence to select, install and maintain them.

The course includes training on two types of systems – the ReSol drain back system and the Vaillant evacuated tube system. Our installations are fully operational and you will get “hands on” training with them as well as classroom based theory training.

As a BPEC certified course which is recognised by the Energy Saving Trust and the Solar Trade Association, upon completion you will be able to apply to the Low Carbon Building Program to be listed as a registered installer. This will mean that you have access to grant funding for installations that you do whereas

non registered installers cannot gain access to these funds.
