Part P (Defined Scope B & C)
In order for electrical installers to self certify their domestic electrical work and to comply with current building regulations, they must be registered with a competent person scheme such as the NICEIC Domestic Installer Scheme. All applicants must be able to demonstrate they have the ability to install, test and certify their work in accordance with BS7671 and relevant building regulations.
This programme comprises of training and assessment to meet the needs of the competent person scheme. The scheme covers regulations, standards and terminology, unsafe installations and the performance of electrical test procedures. Knowledge and appreciation of other requirements are also covered within the content of the course.
This qualification is a “must have” for anyone who is needing to carry out specific electrical work in their duties whilst undertaking gas work and/or installation. It is now a Corgi requirement to have this qualification in place if you intend to carry out the electrical connection of any central heating appliances that you have installed.
A good basic understanding of electrics is needed in order to get the best from this course.
