Inspection & Testing – Full Training

This is a four day course - with an optional 5th day - including detailed practical demonstrations in preparation for both the practical assessment and written examination.

The course is aimed at personnel who are involved in the Inspection and Testing of Electrical Installations to BS7671 (17th Edition Wiring Regulations) and require certification for registration purposes or to demonstrate competence as a "duty holder" with responsibility for the safety of electrical installations within their organisation.

The full 2391 qualification is achieved following successful completion of both a practical assessment and a written examination (closed book) of 2 1/2 hours duration - 6.30pm to 9pm on a date scheduled by City & Guilds.  The practical assessment is carried out within the four days training.

For entry onto the course candidates must posess relevant practical experience and a good working knowledge of BS7671.

Any candidate who is unfamiliar with test instrumentation or testing procedures is advised to undertake the optional 5th day training - "Electrical Testing Practical Tutorial" - in addition to the standard course.

  • Main inspection requirements as prescribed in BS7671 Guidance Note 3
  • Sequence and actual tests to be carried out as prescribed in BS7671 Guidance Note 3
  • Proving test instruments
  • Completion of periodic and minor works forms with associated schedules and results
